GREETINGS FROM THE ATLANTA BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Atlanta Board of Education establishes and approves the policies that govern the Atlanta Public Schools system. Our board consists of nine members, representing six geographical districts and three at-large districts. One person is elected per district to represent the schools in a given district for a four-year term. In order to fulfill our duties and conduct the board’s business, we meet publicly every month, usually in the auditorium of the Center for Learning and Leadership (130 Trinity Avenue, S.W., Atlanta, GA 30303).

Simbli is one way we keep the public informed. Through this online meeting system, you can view agendas and supporting documents associated with each board meeting. You have the ability to view and/or print information prior to our board meetings. This new electronic system provides the public greater access to information that Board Members use to make critical decisions that impact students and schools.

After each board meeting, individuals can also review agenda items and read about actions taken by the school board, along with voting information. All documents associated with our meetings are automatically archived and can be searched by meeting date or by using the comprehensive search feature.
