The Board is composed of five members who serve four-year terms. Their&nbsp;responsibilities include setting direction for the district, employing the Superintendent, overseeing development and adoption of policies, adopting curriculum and instruction materials, establishing budget priorities and adopting the budget, providing safe facilities to support the instructional program and setting parameters for negotiations with employee organizations. The Board&#39;s actions must conform to Federal, State, and County laws. District staff, headed by the Superintendent, carries out the policies and actions of the Board.</body>
