Dr. Sundra Woodford is serving her third term representing District 5 on the Bibb County Board of Education and is Vice President of the Board.

A graduate of Central High School, Dr. Woodford attended Alexander II, Hartley Elementary, Pearl Stephens Elementary and Miller Middle. She graduated first from Spelman College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English before receiving her Master’s degree from Wesleyan College and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Argosy University.

A career administrator in the community development realm, Dr. Woodford has served in leadership roles for Macon Area Habitat for Humanity and the Land Bank Authority. She was also named the OneMacon! Neighborhood and United Way Community Engagement Project Manager.

“I joined the school board to influence equitable decision-making across our school district relative to high-quality public education that supports the full development of all children,” Dr. Woodford said.

Dr. Woodford served as Vice President of the Bibb County Board of Education in 2019 and in 2024 and as Treasurer in 2020 and 2021. She has also served as Chair of the Fiscal Support Services and Policies and Rules Committees.

Dr. Woodford currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Bibb County Education Foundation.
