Board of Education Meeting Information

Meetings
Regular Board of Education meetings are usually scheduled for the fourth Monday of each month at 6:30pm. Work Sessions are usually scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month at 12:30pm. Meeting dates are subject to change.
 
Posters
If guests bring a poster or other printed materials to a Board of Education meeting, these are permissible only in the back 3 center rows in the auditorium. This is a courtesy to others in the room and will ensure recordings of the meeting are unhindered. Printed materials with profane language, images, and threats are not permitted.  
 
Public Comment during Regular Meetings
Individuals who wish to address the board may sign up at Regular Board meetings. There is a time limit of precisely three minutes for each individual public comments. 
  • Sign-up Required: To speak during the Public Comment portion of the Board meeting, please sign up at least 15 minutes prior to the 6:30 p.m. meeting start time. The sign-up sheets will be available outside of the auditorium. Once the form is completed, please hand it to an ABSS staff member. Please write legibly.
  • Time AllotmentPer Board policy individuals who have signed up may speak for up to three (3) minutes. Before beginning your comments, please state your name. Please note that the timer will chime after exactly 3 minutes. Please plan accordingly and respect any additional directions given.
  • Speaker OrderSpeakers will be called in the order in which they signed up. When your name is called, please make your way to the podium. 
  • Public Comment NotesProfane language, making threats, or revealing confidential student or staff information will not be allowed. Please address the Board only as a whole, not the audience. Note that the Board will not respond directly to public comments.
Public Comment during Special Called Meetings and Work Sessions
The Board does not hear public comments at special called meetings or work sessions.
