2021 Board of Trustees Meeting Schedule

Agenda Posting Requirements:
In compliance with the Brown Act, open meeting laws, the District shall post agendas in the following manner, shall contain a brief general description of each item not to exceed 20 words, and shall specify the time and location of the meeting.
  • Regular Meeting:  Shall be posted at least 72-hours before the start time of the meeting as specified in the agenda notice.  Shall be posted in a location that is freely accessible to members of the public and on the local agency's website (Government Code Section 54954.2)
  • Special Meeting:  Shall be posted at least 24-hours before the start time of the meeting as specified in the agenda notice.  Special meetings can be called at any time.
  • Emergency Meeting:  Shall meet the required purpose of an “emergency situation.”  If the purpose of the meeting meets the required meaning of an emergency situation, the District may hold an emergency meeting without complying with either the 24-hour notice requirement or the 24-hour posting requirement of Section 54956 or both of the notice and posting requirements.
Regular Board meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month, unless otherwise indicated on the agenda:
  • 6:30 p.m. Opening Procedures/Closed Session
  • 7:30 p.m. Public/Open Session

Regular Study Session Board meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month, unless otherwise indicated on the agenda:
  • 6:30 p.m. Opening Procedures/Open Session
  • Closed Session following the completion of the Open Session agenda

Note: The 2021 Board of Trustees meeting schedule was adopted at the December 17, 2020, regular Board meeting and is subject to change.  Special Meetings may be scheduled at any time following The Brown Act posting requirements.   All amendments to the schedule will be marked in RED.  Visit to view each agenda, for date and location updates.  Contact (626) 312-2900 x212 or email for questions.

  • January 2021 - scheduled the 3rd Thursday only to avoid Winter Break.
  • June 2021 - due to Public Hearing and Budget Adoption.
  • July 2021 - no meetings scheduled; special meetings will be scheduled as needed.
  • August 2021 - meeting scheduled to prepared for the beginning of the school year.
  • December 2021 - Organizational meeting as per Education Code, Interim Report due to County by 15th.


PUBLIC COMMENTS (during the COVID pandemic)

As per Governor Newsom’s Executive Order # N-29-20 signed on March 17, 2020, Item 3. Paragraph 11 of Executive Order N-25-20 (March 12, 2020) is withdrawn and superseded by the following text:

Notwithstanding any other provision of state or local law (including, but not limited to, the Bagley-Keene Act or the Brown Act), and subject to the notice and accessibility requirements set forth below, a local legislative body or state body is authorized to hold public meetings via teleconferencing and to otherwise electronically allow all members of the public seeking to observe and to address the local legislative body or state body. All requirements in both the Bagley-Keene Act and the Brown Act expressly or impliedly requiring the physical presence of members, the clerk, or other personnel of the body, or of the public, as a condition of participation in or quorum for a public meeting are hereby waived.

In particular, any otherwise-applicable requirements that:
  • State and local bodies notice each teleconference location from which a member will be participating in a public meeting;
  • Each teleconference location be accessible to the public;
  • Members of the public may address the body at each teleconference conference location;
  • State and local bodies post agendas at all teleconference locations;
  • At least one member of the state body be physically present at the location specified in the notice of the meeting; and
  • During teleconference meetings, at least a quorum of the members of the local body participate from locations within the boundaries of the territory over which the local body exercises jurisdiction
are hereby suspended.

All requests should include: Speaker’s name, address, and topic. Speakers will have an opportunity to read their own comments or have them read aloud by a District Representative.

The Board of Trustees values your comments. Pursuant to the Brown Act, Government Code 54954.2, 54954.3, and Education Code 35145.5, the Board cannot take any action or discuss a topic of concern until such time as the matter may appear as an item on a forthcoming agenda. Pursuant to Board Bylaw No. 9323, each individual speaker shall be allowed three minutes to address the Board on each agenda or nonagenda item. The Board shall limit the total time for public input on each item to 20 minutes.

This Rosemead School District Board of Trustees agenda is posted in the District Office window, along “Guess Street” near the corner of Rosemead Boulevard and Guess Street, at 3907 Rosemead Blvd., Rosemead, California 91770; which is accessible to members of the public 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

Digital Posting of Board Agendas as per Brown Act Requirements:

Disabilities Accommodations:
In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, any person with a disability who requires aids or services in order to participate in the public meeting, can contact the Superintendent’s Office at (626) 312-2900 x212 at least 72-hours before the public meeting, to request any disability-related modification or accommodation, including auxiliary aids or services. (Government Code 54953.2, 54954.1)

To request a physical copy of the agenda, please contact the Superintendent’s Office at (626) 312-2900 x212, via fax (626) 312-2906, or email to  Trustees have received background information regarding each agenda item prior to the meeting thus ensuring thorough review of each item. In compliance with Government Code §54957.5(b), documents made available to the Board after the posting of the agenda for a regular meeting that relate to an upcoming public session item will be made available in the District’s Reception office located at the above address.

Meeting Recorded:
This meeting will be audio recorded. Pursuant to Government Code 54953.5, any audio or video recording of an open and public meeting made for whatever purpose by or at the direction of the District shall be subject to inspection pursuant to the California Public Records Act (Chapter 3.5 (commencing with Section 6250) of Division 7 of Title 1), but, may be erased or destroyed 30 days after the recording.

Completion of Closed Session:
The Board of Trustees may reconvene closed session at the completion of open session agenda items, if it is necessary to complete the closed session agenda.
