The Bertie County Schools Board of Education

The Bertie County Board of Education meets on the second Tuesday of each month with the open business meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. followed by the closed session after the business meeting. The public is welcomed and encouraged to attend all open meetings of the Board of Education.

The Board may meet in special session upon the call of the Chairman or of the secretary as often as the school business of the administrative unit may require.

Board Members represent the following areas:

  • Mrs. Reba Cooper Carlton - (Chairman) District 1-2 (2020 - 2024)
  • Mr. Rickey Freeman -  District 2-B (2022 - 2026)
