For the last several years, KSD has had a retired certified staff member help with IQ testing when our diagnostician cannot keep up with the demand due to the number of special education evaluations. This particularly happens at the beginning and end of the school year when gifted testing escalates. Previously, $25 per hour has been the set rate for this service since it started with no increase in that rate to date. The current rate for an outside contracted individual to provide the same service is approximately $60 per hour. It is requested that KSD increase the current rate of $25 per hour to $30 per hour. The increased rate is still a significant cost savings to the District.
