ITEM : E.1. Contract with Pro Care Therapy Services - Andrea Pender

Recommendation
The Superintendent recommends approval of hiring a special education parapro through a contract with Pro Care Therapy Services. 

Summary
Due to the recent resignation of a paraprofessional who was trained to support students who are blind or visually impaired, an open paraprofessional position was posted.  As a result of this opening, a viable candidate was not found through the typical screening and hiring practices of the Barrow County School System to support the needs of the student.  An experienced candidate was located through a local staffing company, Pro Care Therapy Services.  We would like to enter into a contract paid with federal IDEA funds with Pro Care Therapy to hire a paraprofessional to support a student as per the required services on the Individualized Education Plan.

Financial Impact
The contract has an hourly rate of $35 and will not exceed $40,000 this school year.
