We are requesting to replace 2 each, original 25 ton “Water Cooled” Water Source Heat Pumps for Apalachee’s Gym. The units are 17 years old, being past their expected service life (because they’re a water cooled unit). 2 out of the original 4 units have already been replaced for similar problems.  Each unit has a bad compressor ($3500.00 each for compressor only) which is no longer available for purchase (retrofit only). They both have major mechanical issues, a leaking Condensing Coil ($2500.00 Coil only) and refrigerant leaks. To repair the equipment just replacing the bad parts only with retrofit parts and the labor, possibly costing up to $13,000.00 to $14,000.. Due to age and cost to bring the equipment up to operating conditions we recommend replacing the equipment.
