The Superintendent recommended the Barrow County Board of Education enter into an Agreement with GPI to provide day-to-day management of the venue as it relates to school system use.

Summary/Recommendation

The Barrow County Board of Commissioners has entered into an Agreement with Golden Productions, Inc. (GPI) to solicit and manage any number and variety of performances to be held at the Innovation Amphitheater (IA) within the confines of their allotted 45 Dedicated Usage Days.

A recommendation is made to the Barrow County Board of Education to enter into an Agreement with GPI to provide day-to-day management of the venue as it relates to school system use.

The Agreement (see attached) developed in conjunction with Dan Murphy sets forth the duties and responsibilities of GPI and the Barrow County School System as well as the terms of payment to be made thereunder. 

The Agreement allows for an annual compensation of $55,000 to GPI for day-to-day management and coordination of basic school system events.  Further provisions will be included in an Addendum to fully account for the terms, conditions and compensation associated with the production of larger and more complex events, as well as third party rentals.  

The term of the Agreement would be for the duration of the current fiscal year, from September 6, 2017 through June 30, 2018.  The Agreement allows for automatic year renewal periods based on continued satisfactory performance.
