The Superintendent recommends approval for Holsenbeck Elementary School to purchase grade level reading collections for independent reading and guided reading in Kindergarten, First and Second Grade, from Fountas and Pinnell. 

The Fountas and Pinnell Independent Reading Collections provide students with books they can read, enjoy, and practice developing the ability to read independently. The Fountas and Pinnell Classroom Guided Reading Collections will help teachers work with students at their reading level and help move students forward with intentional and intensive teaching of reading strategies.

The total quote is $32,074.20. This is a sole source vendor and the funds will be coming from their school account. Their School Governance Team approved this purchase on March 21, 2018, at their monthly meeting.
