Recommendation | ||
The Superintendent recommends that Barrow County School System enter into a collaborative agreement with Bayada Home Health Care, Inc., to provide one-on-one nursing services to a medically fragile student.
Summary | ||
Due to the recent registration of a medically fragile student, a one-on-one nurse will need to be provided in order to support medical needs while at school. Bayada provides such services as well as the supervision of their LPNs and RNs. In order to fully meet the needs of this student, a contract would need to be entered into with this nursing company. Title VI-B federal funds and Medicaid reimbursement funds will be used to fund this service. In addition to the Title VI-B funds and Medicaid funds, a High Cost Grant will be written in the spring for each student in order to offset this necessary cost.
