Goal 1: Students at Brewton City School System will be taught a rigorous curriculum
through their prescribed courses of study in reading, writing, and mathematics.
Objective 1: 70% of all students in grades 3-8, 10, and 11 will benchmark or be considered ready
in reading as measured by the ACT or the ACT Aspire by June 30, 2020.
Objective 2: 50% of all students in grades 3-8, 10, and 11 will benchmark or be considered ready
in writing as measured by the ACT or the ACT Aspire by June 30, 2020.
Objective 3: 70% of all students in grades 3-8, 10, and 11 will benchmark or beconsidered ready
in mathematics as measured by the ACT or the ACT Aspire by June 30, 2020.
Goal 2: All schools will decrease the learning achievement gaps among the various
subgroups.
Objective 1: 100% of all students in grades 3-8, 10, and 11 will receive instruction from Highly
Qualified teachers in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics.
Objective 2: The achievement gap in reading, writing, and mathematics will be reduced by 50%
for African-American students by June 30, 2020
Goal 3: All students in the Brewton City School System will be prepared for college and
careers
Objective 1: All students in the Brewton City School System will receive instruction and
learning opportunities to be prepared for college and careers.
Objective 2: All students will utilize technology to enhance their learning for mastery of the
Alabama College and Career Ready Standards as measured by formative assessments, transition
assessments, and summative assessments.
Objective 3: 70% of students in grade 3-8, 10, and 11 will demonstrate proficiencies using
formative assessments aligned with the Alabama College and Career Ready Standards in the
areas of reading and mathematics and 50% of students in those grades in the area of writing by
June 30, 2020
