Student Achievement: Based on the Iowa School Performance Profile, WCCSD will score at or above the State proficiency averages in grades 3-11 in English/language arts and mathematics.
2022-23 Goal:
Based on the Iowa School Performance Profile, WCCSD will score at or above the State
proficiency averages in grades 3-11 in English/language arts and mathematics.
Action Steps:
- Each building will implement a multi-tiered system of support by January 11, 2023 (second semester).
- Each building will establish a Building Leadership Team.
- Each building will develop and implement goals and action steps to support this goal, which will be monitored by the Building Leadership Team.
Budget: The Board will support a budget that provides high-quality educational opportunities for all WCCSD students.
2022-23 Goal:
In order to ensure the highest bond rating as the District moves toward a new high school, the Board, in accordance with Policy 701, will monitor progress toward:
- assigned and unassigned general fund balance at June 30 is a minimum of 15% of the year’s revenue.
- unspent budget authority at June 30, which shall be no less than 5% with a target of 7.5% and a maximum of 10% of its general fund budget (spending) authority.
OPERATIONS: The Board will annually update a strategic plan that systematically addresses the needs of all students.
2022-23 Goals:
The Board will approve a three-year rolling strategic plan by June 2023.
By May 1, 2023, the Board will identify the High School Study Committee to begin community engagement toward a new high school.
FACILITIES: The Board will provide all WCCSD students with infrastructure for learning that is safe, meets industry standards, and supports current instructional delivery.
2022-23 Goals:
- By December 1, 2022, the District will have in place a roof replacement plan that includes determining whether to change the pitch of building roofs.
- By December 1, 2022, the District will have in place a boiler replacement plan.
By September 1, 2022, the District will fix the hot water issues at the outdoor concession stand.By the first home football game, the speakers at the football field will be replaced and operational.- By June 1, 2023, caulking and tuckpointing will be done at NEH, PV, SS, MS, HS, and the Admin Building.
Replace at least one porcelain drinking fountain on second floor at WCHS with a water bottle filling station.- Develop a plan to move Hamilton High in order to sell the Lawn Hill building by the 2023-24 school year.
- By June 30, 2023, repair the Pleasant View entry, including railings and ramp.
- Repair staff parking lot at Sunset Heights
- Improve ADA accessibility at football bleachers.
- Add curb cuts for ADA accessibility at the tennis courts.
- Add vape detectors at the High School.
- Correct the roof drain at the SE entrance at the Admin Building.
- Infill the dropbox at the Admin Building.
