Overview

<div style="text-align: left;">The Madison County Board of Education adopted the original Strategic Plan on Tuesday, November 10, 2008 at its regular monthly meeting. The plan was updated in April 2009 and again in April 2010. <br />

As the district prepared for SACS accreditation&nbsp;in the 2010-2011 school year,&nbsp;stakeholders reviewed several planning documents that were in effect--the strategic plan, the consolidated grant application, the Board of Education's goals--and recommended that these plans be reorganized to create one unified document.&nbsp; Further, recommendations were made to&nbsp;review goals and objectives and&nbsp;to focus on student achievement. Approved strategies from the original strategic plan were aligned to the revised district goals.&nbsp; The revised plan has been updated in each subsequent school year.&nbsp; With each update, the school system solicits input from a planning team of stakeholders.&nbsp; As the district has moved forward with major initiatives--Charter System Application in 2011-12 and grant application for the Regional College and Career Academy in 2012-13--stakeholder input has been invaluable as the district works to remain true to our mission of graduating independent, productive citizens.</div></a></title>
