Welcome to GAMUT.  This site is used by the Board of Trustees to organize, manage, and align critical information for the district, including board policies and board meetings.  We invite all of our community stakeholders to access this site to better understand the work that is happening in our district and we welcome your input and dialogue to help us best serve our students.

What is the Board of Trustees?
The Board of Trustees is a Governing Board elected by the resident voters of a school district to be legally responsible for the education of all the children in that district.  The Red Bluff Join Union High School District Governing Board consists of five persons elected by the community as a whole.  Each Board Member serves four years.

What is the Function of a Governing Board?
The Governing Board is a policy-making body.  The policies that it establishes are carried out by the administration of the district.

Board Meeting Location
The Board meetings are held in person at the District Office, 1525 Douglass Street, Red Bluff, CA 96080.  Most meetings begin at 5:00 p.m. with closed session and the public session beginning no sooner than 5:30 p.m.

How to Address the Board
Any person desiring to address the Board of Trustees concerning a topic on the agenda should complete an "Agenda Item Speaker" card and give it to the Superintendent prior to the meeting.  Those wishing to address the Board on matters not on the agenda should complete a "Non-Agenda Item Speaker" card and give it to the Superintendent prior to the meeting.  Speakers are ordinarily limited to three minutes.  When called to address the Board, speakers will be asked to step up to the lectern and identify themselves.
  1. If you wish to speak on a subject not on the agenda, you will be called on during the time allotted for "Audience with Members of the Public".
  2. If you are interested in an item on the agenda, you will be called on to speak when that item is introduced.
  3. Should you have questions relating to policy and procedures or complaints against employees, please refer them to the appropriate administrator (Principal, Superintendent, etc.).
Meetings are Open to the Public
While meetings of the Board of Trustees are not public meetings, they are open to the public.  The only exception is a closed session for personnel matters, instructions to the Board's negotiating team, student matters such as expulsion hearings, and consultations with the Board's attorney on matters of litigation.  Actions taken in closed session are announced to the public in open session.
