The Pierce County Board of Education is the governing body of the Pierce County School System.  The primary role of the Board is legislation of the school system policies, which are executed under the direction of the school superintendent.  The Pierce County Board of Education consists of five members, four are elected by the district he/she represents, while the chair position is elected countywide. Work meetings are held the 1st Thursday of the month at 8:00am. Regular meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00 PM unless otherwise noted.  The Meetings link lists all meetings, dates, and times.  All meetings are held at the Pierce County Board of Education at 834 East Main Street, Blackshear.

The Pierce County Board of Education members encourage all citizens to stay abreast of the decisions that are made on behalf of the students of Pierce County.  In Pierce County, “Excellence is Standard.”
