RECOGNITIONS
The performing arts department gave a wonderful performance at the Shuler Awards on Georgia Public TV and won several of the awards that they were nominated for. Track won region. The girls' soccer team advanced to round one of the state tournament. The boys' soccer team competes tomorrow in round one and the baseball team on Saturday.

School Events and Updates for RHS
The prom is Saturday. The end of course tests are coming up and all the senior activities. The facility improvements for the baseball locker room are to be completed by the end of June. Two handicapped sidewalk entrances have been added to the main entrance of the school. The ESPLOST funds have paid for renovations to the football fieldhouse locker room. The graduation rain date is Thursday.
Principal Guidelines and Responsibilities
Interviews by the county office will be held soon. The HR director or Mr. Jones will contact the LSGT team for their input soon and presentation of the candidates.

School Events and Updates for RHS
Spring sports have begun. The performing arts department is preparing for the production of "The Little Mermaid." The elementary schools attended earlier in the week. The EOC scores improved, especially in social studies, which we are very proud of. The eighth graders have had their tours and class selections are beginning for the 2026-2027 school year. Prom is April 25. Graduation is on a Tuesday.

Professional development has been held locally or Google meets, therefore the need to reduce the cost of this line item.

The proposal for the adjustment of funds to be reallocated for the teacher's workroom, which needs updating in furniture, equipment and supplies, which would allow for better collaboration and improvement of instructional strategies. This would allow teachers to bring small group classes for an extended time to prepare for tests, read aloud tests or materials and such.

School Events and Updates for RHS
Mr. Jones said the rendering of the expansion and remodel of the gymnasium project is being revised by Mr. Boaz and could possibly be presented next month. Mr. Jones has requested that an awning be added to the building similar to the other two high schools for students and the public when unloading and visiting the school so they would be protected from the elements.

Ms. Smith reported on the results of the PBIS information that was shared with the staff this week. The team is trying to come up with ideas to improve student tardies.

Registration for SY26-27 has begun. We have tweaked the process so that students now meet with their guidance counselor to assist with class selection in hopes that changes will not have to be made at the beginning of next school year. Teacher allotments are based on the student's number of class requests.

Winter sports are wrapping up and the transition to spring sports has begun.

School Events and Updates for RHS
Mrs. Meyer, assistant principal, and Mrs. Cross, graduation coach, presented information concerning the Positive Behavior Intervention Support. The PBIS team meets monthly to review the student data and come up with interventions, rewards and solutions to potential struggles and problems that exist for the stakeholders. Solutions range from chips, candy, soft drinks, pizza, breakfast, dances, pep rallies and games.

The senior planning committee met this week and will be sending the information to students and parents on upcoming events.

Mr. Jones met with the facilities director and the architect to show them the current condition of the downstairs gymnasium. We would like to see if they could possibly be included in the renovation of the gymnasium using ESPLOST funds should that be the decision that's reached. Next month, coaches affected by the potential change will attend the meeting to give their input.

CCPRI information will be given at the February meeting.

Winter sports have begun and are doing well.
The senior sponsors are taking trips with the students and have improved on communicating the information to their parents.
Mr. Nix, Superintendent, ESPLOST and RHS Projects (Q & A)
Mr. Nix expressed his thankfulness for the support of the voters who backed the ESPLOST programs. He updated the group on past and future projects and how the money was acquired and the borrowing process to speed projects along and save the taxpayers additional money by keeping project materials and quotes in line with inflation. He also explained the process of prioritization, such as high maintenance needs, equitability in facilities and new facilities. He is also seeking input from the LSGT on the upcoming RHS gym renovation or new facility.

RECOGNITIONS
Mr. Jones stated that the graduation rate would be released soon and RHS did great. PBIS earned the mark of being distinguished. The football team has been ranked number nine in the power rankings. The JROTC and Performing Arts students participated in the National Medal of Honor Ceremony held at the depot last week. The band received superior ratings at the competition last week. Volleyball will be playing in the region and state playoffs with some on the game being at home in the coming week. Cross Country is having a good season also.

School Events and Updates for RHS
Homecoming will be the week after fall break. Every day there will be a theme. The parade will be on Thursday at 6:30 with a community bonfire at city hall with food trucks after the parade. On Saturday a homecoming dance will be held in the gym. ESPLOST VII will be voted on soon with early voting taking place October 14–31. Updating the RHS gym is one of the items included on the agenda. The athletic department has a new program, flag football, with the first game on October 3.
