Call to Order
The Curriculum/Policy Committee meeting was called to order by Chairperson Jeff Frizell.

Jeff Cox, an Ex-Officio Member of the Committee, has been appointed to serve in an ad hoc capacity in place of absent committee member, Katelyn Cockerham.

Assistant Superintendent Bruce Chaffin presented policies with an explanation of each policy.

After discussion, a motion was made and duly seconded to adopt the Livingston Parish Public Schools’ Policies.

Call to Order
The Curriculum/Policy Committee meeting was called to order by Chairperson Jeff Frizell.

Pupil Progression Plan 2025-2026 school year
Director of Curriculum Beth Jones presented the 2025-2026 Pupil Progression Plan. The State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Louisiana Department of Education require assurances that the local education agency forms a committee to update and revise the Pupil Progression Plan yearly. Livingston Parish had a committee of 23 members involved in this process for the 2025-2026 Pupil Progression Plan.

The following changes and updates are reflected in the 2025-2026 Pupil Progression Plan:

Page 5-6	Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, we will require K-2 students to pass both Math and English to be promoted to the next grade. To be considered for promotion in conflict, students must score above the Well Below category on both the literacy and numeracy.
Page 9, 10, 38	Due to change in the grading scale, students must now have to pass their unit tests with an average of 60% to be considered for promotion.
Page 7-12	Consideration for promotion of students not meeting the established criteria must be determined in an SBLC meeting that includes representation from the next transitioning school.
Page 9, 10	For Third Grade and Fourth Grade: A student who will be twelve on or before September 30 may be considered for promotion to the next grade. For the promotion to take place, the director of curriculum must agree to the placement. The 3rd grade retention law will not be overruled unless the student has a Good Cause Exemption. A student who fails three or more subjects and is not twelve on or before September 30 is ineligible for promotion to the next grade.
Page 10, 12, 14, 37, 38	Change the terminology from Above Unsatisfactory to Three Grade Levels Below to Not More Than Two Grade Levels
Page 10	Foreign Language (½ unit) could be 1 for FL if it’s a full year course Health/Physical Education (½ unit) 1 total unit (½ for health and ½ for PE, or 1 for PE)
Page 7, 8, 14	Replaced the word Intensive with Well Below to match the terminology used on the end-of-year literacy assessment.
