Challenger Middle School – 2014 Alabama Safe Schools Initiative Best Practices
A message from Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange:
Last year I was pleased to reinstitute the Alabama Safe Schools Initiative. This important program placed an emphasis on how schools in Alabama are using technology to provide the safest learning environment possible. A panel of judges from my office, the Alabama State Department of Education, the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center, the Alabama Department of Public Safety, the Alabama Department of Insurance, and the Alabama Association of School Resource Officers awarded one school from each of the eight state school board districts with an Attorney General’s Safe School Award of Excellence.
After seeing all of the great work by our education employees, school systems, and law enforcement, I am proud to present the Alabama Safe Schools Initiative Best Practices. Some of the suggested practices require funding, while others are just a simple, common sense approach to safety. I encourage you to visit our website and see what other schools are doing to make advances in school safety.
