Vision Statement:

New Bloomfield R-III School District believes there are four key components essential to learning:
Commitment, Accountability, Team Work, and Success(CATS). Staff members, students, parents, and community members will continually strive to achieve these goals and all decisions made in the district will be driven by this Vision.
 



Board Goals
Adopted 2/18/2021

  1. The board will complete a board self-evaluation by June 30, 2021
  2. The board will develop board norms to ensure meetings are kept professional by June 30, 2021.
  3. The board will develop a board professional development plan by June 30, 2021.
  4. The board will develop a new board member orientation and mentor program by June 30, 2021.
  5. Conduct a minimum of two board work sessions each year to discuss the budget, CSIP and set board goals by June 30, 2021



Board Norms

COMMUNICATION:

We will operate in a proactive, professional environment by creating a clear and detailed communication protocol.  This communication protocol will ensure:
  1. What one board member wants to know all board members know. 
  2. Board of Education members speak in one voice to internal and external stakeholders. 

 

BOARD ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

We will keep board business to:

  • Board Policies
  • CSIP
  • Legal Requirements
  • Evaluation of the Superintendent


BOARD MEETINGS:

We will be prepared for the board meetings and engaged with the presenter.
Preparation and engagement will include:

  • Thorough review of materials prior to the meeting.
  • Ask questions prior to the board meeting in a timely manner.
  • No electronic communication during the meeting or sidebar conversations


PROFESSIONAL AND ETHICAL BEHAVIOR:

We will model professional and ethical behavior by:

  • Treating everyone with dignity and respect.
  • Making all decisions in the best interest of students.
  • We will maintain confidentiality and refrain from using our board positions for personal benefit.
