Performance Objectives, Measure and Targets

- Performance Objective A-A system is present for managing and facilitating student achievement and learning based upon consensus-driven content and performance standards.
- Performance Objective B-Collect and analyze student performance data to identify patterns of achievement and underachievement in order to design and implement appropriate instructional interventions.
- Performance Objective C-Designing and implementing teaching - learning - assessment tasks and activities to ensure that all students achieve proficiency relative to the Georgia Standards of Excellence Standards (CCGPS)and Georgia Performance Standards (GPS).
- Performance Objective A-The processes, procedures, structures, and products that focus the operations of a school on ensuring attainment of standards and high levels of learning for all students.
- Performance Objective A-The school as a community of learning involves parents and community members as active participants. There is consistent and growing evidence of parental involvement and volunteerism, participation in workshops and enrichment activities, and a process of two-way communication. Everyone collaborates to help the school achieve its continuous improvement targets and short- and long-range goals.
- Performance Objective A-Professional learning is the means by which teachers, administrators and other school and system employees acquire, enhance and refine the knowledge, skills, and commitment necessary to create and support high levels of learning for all students.

Initiatives, Action Steps

- - - Action Step a-Review, select, and adopt resources for identified subject area/courses as stated on the MCS Resource Adoption Cycle.
    - Action Step b-Monitor the integration of technology standards of the GSE and ISTE with media specialists. (Georgia Vision Project 5.2).
    - Action Step c-Schedule vertical team meetings to provide opportunities for vertical discussions between and among all grade levels, PK-12.
    - Action Step d-Continue collaboration between core content and CTAE teachers to provide more integration of academics for students at the middle school and high school. (Georgia Vision Project, 4.1).
    - Action Step e-Increase quality internet connectivity with wifi access in every instructional location. (Georgia Vision Project, 5.2).
    - Action Step f-When given a small class size, screeners, curriculum and intensive services, students qualifying for the Flexible Intervention Program will make progress academically by decreasing the gap from baseline in August by 25% by June 2022.
  - - Action Step a-Review and revise curriculum documents, including assessments for all courses, including gifted, ALPHA, AP, and Honors courses to show advanced expectations that follow the state gifted guidelines and the GSE. (Georgia Vision Project 4.3)
    - Action Step b-Monitor the process of "Looking at Student Work" as teachers collaborate to identify common understanding of the expected level of accomplishment by students. (Georgia Vision Project 4.4)
    - Action Step c-Monitor the incorporation of constructed, extended assessment, and technology enhanced items through Illuminate (benchmark assessments and unit assessments).
  - - Action Step a-Use visits to school-level curriculum/content meetings, student engagement, PBIS, and co-teach walk-throughs as well as weekly visits by Central Office personnel to ensure implementation of adopted instructional strategies, Assessment for Learning strategies, and organizational processes that support student achievement.
    - Action Step b-Elementary principals, instructional coaches, media specialists, and district staff should participate in Guided Reading Focus Walks in elementary schools to ensure fidelity of Guided Reading practices across the system.

    - Action Step b-Teachers will use the State Longitudinal Data System (SLDS), Illuminate, and STAR (Reading, Early Literacy, Math) to flexibly group students on a regular basis according to their individual needs to improve instruction and close the achievement gap between sub-groups.

    - Action Step d-Elementary teachers will be trained on the DOE's Early Learning Behavior Models and will use the Early Childhood Classroom Assistance Tool (EC-CAT) as a measurement tool to help prevent and decrease problem behaviors.
    - Action Step e-Elementary classroom teachers will be trained to administer the Student Risk Screening Scale (SRSS) to all PK-2nd grade students to help identify students who demonstrate externalizing and internalizing behaviors.
    - Action Step f-In August/September, elementary speech teachers will screen all PK/K students to help identify students with language deficits.
  - - Action Step a-Continue the development and use of rubrics, checklists, and exemplars for instruction to support the student assessment.
    - Action Step b-Through the use of Easy CBM at MCAC and 9th grade for students with exceptionalities staff will increase compliance by 100% by having probes, work samples analysis, data points over the duration of the IEP, and benchmarks for progress monitoring.
    - Action Step c-Implement Georgia's Keenville assessments for grades 1 and 2.
  - - Action Step a-Monitor schools' increased use of formative assessment data to inform and differentiate instruction through the use of school Data Teams.
    - Action Step b-Increase the percentage of students passing the End of Pathway Assessments (EOPA) and increase the number of students completing a CTAE Pathway.
- - - Action Step a-Revise and edit units in Reading/ELA, Math, Fine Arts, CTAE, Science, Social Studies, and Connections/Specials throughout the school year and on specified system-wide curriculum revision days.

    - Action Step b-Special Education staff will engage in trainings to increase performance to include progress monitoring, transition, Specially Designed Instruction and ASPIRE/SDLMI.
    - Action Step c-Plan for and implement Summer Reading Camp (iRead) for rising 2nd-5th grade students focused on literacy, designed to accelerate and remediate identified skills.

    - Action Step d-Monroe County Middle School, Monroe County Achievement Center, and Mary Persons High School counselors will administer the YouScience aptitude-driven career guidance platform to students in identified grade levels.
  - - Action Step a-Track the number of students participating in the School Nutrition Program (SNP) - paid participation for lunch; total participation for breakfast and lunch.
    - Action Step b-Use Nutrition Advisory Councils (NAC) and surveys to gather customer input for SNP.
    - Action Step c-Maintain and update the SNP website to provide nutrition education and SNP information to the public.
    - Action Step d-Develop and distribute monthly nutritional newsletters for elementary and middle school students to provide nutrition education to students and their families.
    - Action Step e-Provide nutrition education to all students by using the cafeteria as a learning laboratory and through lessons in the classrooms.
    - Action Step f-Make nutritional information (allergen information, nutritional analysis of menus, etc.) available for students, parents, and staff and coordinate with parents and school professionals to make meal modifications for students with special dietary needs.
    - Action Step g-Operate a financially-sound nutrition program.
    - Action Step h-Integrate system databases including, but not limited to Infinite Campus, Primero Edge, VersaTrans, Plasco, Bus Bulletin, and GOIEP.
    - Action Step i-Develop and maintain a paperless records retention program that includes online secured cataloging of information for easy retrieval.
    - Action Step j-Develop and maintain an equipment refreshment plan for administrative technology and instructional technology.
    - Action Step k-Develop and maintain a software inventory that includes utilization analysis.
    - Action Step l-Student Supports will maintain billable students and compliance from therapists to an average of 80% yearly or no less than 70% monthly.
    - Action Step m-Eligibility to 504's will be conducted every three years and an annual plan will be developed in the IC portal with a notice of meeting with 100% compliance to timelines
    - Action Step n-Ensure adequate financial support for the implementation of quality programs for all young children. (Georgia Vision Project 3.6)
    - Action Step o-Commit local funds to implement comprehensive data and evaluation systems that support continuous improvement of student learning (Illuminate software, STAR Reading, STAR Math, STAR Early Literacy, etc). (Georgia Vision Project 9.2)
    - Action Step p-Initiate an ongoing process at the local district level for systematically evaluating all expenditures to enable the development and adoption of budgets that are focused on district strategies for maximizing student learning. (Georgia Vision Project 9.3)
    - Action Step q-Investigate the possibility of wireless vendor payments.
    - Action Step r-MCS will develop an Assistive Technology Team that will create in writing a framework for implemementation, evaluations, access, training, documentation and professional learning while engaging in a partnership with Tools for Life.
  - - Action Step a-Expand placement, monitor activity, and utilize data from video surveillance camera systems through traditional monitoring and monitoring through mobile applications. Create and implement safety-based foyer access.
    - Action Step b-Investigate different programs that can be used to initiate wellness at the schools and system levels.
    - Action Step c-Maintain at least 2 ServSafe Certified employees at each school and ensure the safety and quality of food by maintaining high health inspection scores.
    - Action Step d-Increase awareness of student and teacher ethical use of technology resources. (Georgia Vision Project, 8.1).
    - Action Step e-Information concerning nutritional practices and new regulations will be presented to all school administrators and school staff.
    - Action Step f-Support the implementation of monthly safety drills with assistance from EMS/law enforcement representative and ensure that safety plans meet compliance with EMS/law enforcement.
    - Action Step g-The district will support schools in having ongoing training and supports for IC to utilize reports effectively to maintain reports for action plans at Tier 1 through Tier 3 levels for PBIS
    - Action Step h-Implement a Bus Safety Program for PK-12th grade according to guidelines from Georgia Department of Transportation.
    - Action Step i-Ensure each school and the system is an inviting place to be for students, parents, staff, and the larger community. (Georgia Vision Project 8.2)
    - Action Step j-Implement Alternative Learning Day online assignments for students to complete in the event school is closed due to inclement weather.
    - Action Step k-Communicate each school's car rider drop-off/pick-up processes through appropriate signage and maps.
    - Action Step l-Revise the elementary school process for parents who walk their children to class by reducing the time from 2 weeks to 1 week.
    - Action Step m-Review centralized registration processes (proof of residency and enrollment) and requirements.
    - Action Step n-Implement GPS technology on all school buses, including the implementation of the MyStop parent app.
    - Action Step o-Implement student bus rider registration process.
  - - Action Step a-Provide updates on our Improvement Priority for the current AdvancED/Cognia exit report.
- - - Action Step a-Sustain graduation efforts by including "Class of" initiatives in grades P-12.
    - Action Step b-Market the National School Lunch and National School Breakfast Programs through a variety of community and student-focused promotions.
    - Action Step c-MPHS will coordinate a graduation walk in regalia for all elementary schools.
  - - Action Step a-Conduct annual Title I information, stakeholder surveys, and planning meetings for parents. (Georgia Vision Project 8.4)
    - Action Step b-Make annual notification of parent's rights to know according to Federal Title I guidelines.
    - Action Step c-Create opportunities for a diverse range of parents, especially parents of disadvantaged and minority students, and community members to provide meaningful input as part of the continuous improvement process at both the system and school levels.
    - Action Step d-The Superintendent's Parent and Community Advisory Council will meet quarterly to discuss continuous improvement for MCS.
    - Action Step e-Continue to grow our Work Based Learning Program by advertising and communicating student needs/interests to Business Partners (ex. during Business Appreciation Reception). (Georgia Vision Project 5.4)
    - Action Step f-The Superintendent's Faculty and Staff Advisory Committee will meet quarterly to address needs of faculty and staff.
    - Action Step g-Central office admins will meet regularly with middle and high school student focus groups to discuss ways to improve the educational opportunities for students in MCS. (Georgia Vision Project 8.7)
    - Action Step h-Superintendent will provide a State of Education address to stakeholders and community.
    - Action Step i-Mary Persons High School will continue their process of tracking MP graduates starting with the 2019 cohort.
    - Action Step j-Implement all components of Perkins V legislation.
    - Action Step k-Conduct school and grade level orientations, curriculum nights, and learning/leadership academy experiences for the students and their families.
  - - Action Step a-Continue to support local and state agencies in their efforts to provide for students' physical, emotional, and academic needs (i.e. Multi-Disciplinary Team, Backpack Buddies, Literacy Council, Attendance Council). (Georgia Vision Project 3.4)
    - Action Step b-Create new opportunities for students to engage in Fine Arts through academic performances and professional performances.
    - Action Step c-Central Office staff will contact random parents of students in each grade band during 1st and 2nd semester to receive feedback on their child's educational experiences in MCS.
    - Action Step d-MCMS-WHC will continue to host the Forsyth Monroe County Boys and Girls Club of Central Georgia. (Georgia Vision Project 5.4)
    - Action Step e-Work to develop partnership with Foothills Charter that will provide students another tiered opportunity from which to complete coursework for graduation.
    - Action Step f-Create scholarship opportunities for REACH scholars identified at MCMS.
    - Action Step g-DISS will improve communication with community members/partners, parents and stakeholders by releasing monthly newsletters and information related to special education, 504, mental health initiatives and early interventions.
    - Action Step h-Schools will work with RiverEdge's school system APEX Mental Health Counselor to refer and provide services for students.
    - Action Step i-Create, oversee, and promote the Readers to Leaders Volunteer Reading Program to support literacy in grades PK-2nd grade.
    - Action Step j-MCS will develop and support a new CEC chapter.
- - - Action Step a-Provide teachers with updated information on RESA endorsements in order to increase the number of endorsements earned at each school. Teachers who complete an endorsement program this year will receive a $2,000 stipend in the following areas: Reading, Teacher Leader, Gifted, Personalized Learning, STEM, Online Teaching, Dyslexia, and ESOL.
    - Action Step b-Monitor the completion of Professional Learning Plans for all certified and classified staff.
    - Action Step c-Each staff member (certified and classified) in MCS will develop their own Professional Learning Plan to focus on at least one personal goal for growth.
    - Action Step d-Board of Education, Departments, and Schools will submit Professional Growth Plans indicating SMART goals and action steps to reach goals.
  - - Action Step a-Provide professional learning for parents through webinars and face to face meetings in order to train parents to work with students in the academic areas.
    - Action Step b-Provide opportunity for school counselors to attend the Annual Georgia School Counselors Conference and/or Consortium.
    - Action Step c-Provide an opportunity for school nurses to attend the Annual Conference for Georgia School Nurses in June, as well as complete online courses for required CEUs.
    - Action Step d-Provide on-going inservice and support for teachers in the effective use of the Monroe County Balanced Literacy Initiative (MCBLI-guided reading) . All new teachers will attend MCS Literacy Training during the 21-22 school year.
    - Action Step e-Utilize RESA's Teacher Leader Collaborative and the Alternative Preparation for Educational Leadership Program (APEL) to increase the capacity of leadership in teachers and administrators. (Georgia Vision Project 6.5)
    - Action Step f-Provide training to PreK parents during scheduled PreK PACT Time events to include information on lap reading, fine motor development, and social/emotional behavioral support.
  - - Action Step a-Monitor ESOL students' and teachers' needs for all schools.
    - Action Step b-Provide an opportunity for all new teachers to participate in a focus walk by the end of September.
    - Action Step c-Continue participation in educational leadership conferences to ensure continued compliance with state initiatives such as GACIS, GAEL, GSBA, GSSA, GASPA, and GCASE.
    - Action Step d-Provide training and guidance to teachers, leaders, and staff for TKES and LKES evaluations. Continue training staff on TeacherKeys and LeaderKeys instruments and standards for observation data collection. Discuss alignment of these standards with instructional strategies, artifacts and professional learning.
    - Action Step e-Administrators will continue to model and guide certified staff through year 6 implementation of schoolwide Data Teams at each school.
    - Action Step f-District Facilitators (Chapman, Tonn) will lead new Assessment For Learning and Best Practices Cohorts for FY22.
    - Action Step g-Pre-K Teachers in conjunction with ILC staff will engage in coaching through GA SEEDS methodology/resources by participating in the classroom modules and having an ongoing written action plan at Tier 1 for a total of 100% participation.
    - Action Step h-Provide elementary and middle school teachers with informational training on how to identify potentially gifted students to include evaluation of work samples.
    - Action Step i-Train all teachers and paraprofessionals in grades PK-3 on the Sonday Phonics Program as well as those staff who will use the Sonday 1 Intervention Program and Let's Play Learn to support the MTSS tiers of intervention.
    - Action Step j-MTSS trainings will be provided through the GADOE for teams at the school level
    - Action Step k-Participate in Title III professional learning opportunities in order to become more proficient in implementing and monitoring Title III mandates.
    - Action Step l-MCS will prepare for the new Senate Bill 48 referencing Dyslexia awareness and implementation in 2024-2025 by developing a task force that meets at least six times per year and distributes information to staff, stakeholders, and parents/guardians
  - - Action Step a-Provide CPR, Mindset, and Mental Health training on for teachers, paraprofessionals, bus drivers, and bus monitors throughout the school year. All new teachers and paraprofessionals will participate in Mindset de-escalation training during TIP.
