This new sample board policy addresses issues applicable to employees who work from home or another remote location, whether due to a school closure resulting from a widespread illness, natural disaster, or other emergency condition or upon the request of an individual employee. The policy clarifies that there is no entitlement to work remotely and that employees who are granted the ability to work remotely are subject to the same compensation, benefits, or other terms and conditions of employment appropriate for the position. The policy also addresses work hours, work environment, use of district equipment, reimbursement of expenses, safeguarding of district records, evaluation of job performance, and discontinuance of the remote work arrangement at the district's discretion.
